A drastically modified 1963 Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet that belonged to the late, great Paul Newman is being offered for sale at $250,000.
After acquiring the car Newman had Indy car builder Jerry Eisert fit the otherwise unremarkable bug with a whopping Ford 351 V8 engine, which boosted its output to 300 hp.

He did it, in part, to leave Robert Redford’s Porsche in the dust but was pressured to sell the car because it was “too dangerous”.
