In a fit of nostalgia brought on by the appearance of some very cool original Pan Am pilots’ Rolexes at auction (see below) we decided to post this pic from the bygone airline’s glory days.
Here we have a classic Sixties scene of a couple of Mile High Club charter members leaving work in a comely Corvette Sting Ray.
We think The Trad said it best over at ACL: “Man, that Pan Am stuff throws me into fantasy land of being a single pilot in the early ’60s. Checking the time on the GMT at Idlewild, hailing a cab and lighting a Marlboro with that Zippo.”
Also: “Heading into the city for a couple nights of booze fueled debauchery with Playboy Club blondes with lots of hairspray and long pink manicured nails.”
Sounds like a plan.
