Burlesque queen Dita Von Teese was in town recently to launch her newest cocktail creation (see below) as global brand ambassador for Cointreau, the chic French liqueur with the distinctive Art Deco bottle, at New York’s Los Feliz.
After the event DRIVEN caught up with the diva with the devastating décolletage to discuss her collection of classic cars; here we present Part II of our exclusive in-depth investigation into the dark recesses of Dita’s garage (see Part I here)…..
What is the sexiest car in your collection? What’s the most stylish?
‘I’m looking forward to making use of the massive swanky backseat in my new 1939 Packard Eight’
They’re all sexy! I feel like a badass speed-loving femme fatale in the black ’65 Jaguar S-Type… but I’m personally looking forward to making use of the massive swanky backseat in my new ’39 Packard Eight!
I also love the deep red of the ’46 Ford Super Deluxe convertible. It matches my nails and lips, and the interior is beautifully done.
I love taking it out to the vintage flea markets on Sundays and loading up the trunk with my vintage finds.
The Packard is probably the most elegant though, the dashboard with all the wood and chrome is a work of art.
If you could add any car to add to your collection, what would it be?
Well, I love classic American cars, I’m not really into those multimillion-dollar Bugattis and so on. I suppose the ultimate would be a ’30s or ’40s-era Duesenberg or a Cord, even better if it had belonged to Marlene Dietrich or someone I love!

The movie studios usually gifted Deusies, Packards or Cords for their stars to be driven to work in. It would be cool to have one of those glamorous cars.
I have been admiring ’50s cars more than I used to, I love those long, mean, smooth ’50s Cadillacs. A 1953 Cadillac Eldorado would be amazing.
I was looking at one recently and I became hooked when someone explained that the chrome bullet bumpers were called “Dagmars” after a very busty Hollywood blonde bombshell.
What advice do you have for a man who wants to impress a woman with his car?
‘Don’t try to impress a woman with your car. Just drive it because you love it’
Hmmm… Don’t try to impress her with your car. Just drive it because you love it.
I dated someone once that picked me up in a Maserati or something and I can’t say that I was too impressed with it. Expensive cars aren’t my thing.
I just like beautiful cars from a time when everything was made with care, with design and beauty in mind.
