Continuing in our series of exclusive pix from the cool new, updated edition of McQueen’s Machines: The Cars and Bikes of a Hollywood Icon recently published by Motorbooks, we bring you this iconic image from the collection of the actor’s son, Chad McQueen.
Here a somewhat shaggy-looking King of Cool busts out a smile of pure joy as he surveys the contents of his Hollywood Hills driveway, circa 1965.

The actor is standing next to his amazing 1957 Jaguar XK-SS – known affectionately as the “Green Rat” – while in the foreground we see one of his favorite racecars, a one-seater Lotus XI (aka Lotus Eleven) sports racer.
Wicked wheels indeed.
